With canvas and Quran, Iram is one artist aims to make Islamic calligraphy a universal language.

Iram Faisal classically trained Islamic calligrapher and artist of growing international renown. She continually works to push the boundaries of what is expected from this traditional art form. Iram uses classical Arabic calligraphy with new technologies such as placing a traditional art-form into contemporary context.

Iram’s has made the jump from sketchbook to canvas with the goal of expressing her belief that Islam is a beautiful religion and that people of all faiths are equal in the eyes of God. Iram is now part of artists taking Islamic calligraphy into new styles and new ways of professing the faith, as well as into the realms of politics and protest. Iram also seeks to push the boundaries of traditional Islamic calligraphy through a range of media from animation and to 3D holographic experimentations.
